Professor M. Asım Aydın’s Educational and Career Journey
Professor M. Asım Aydın was born in 1965 in Isparta. He completed his primary and secondary education in Isparta. He graduated from Kuleli Military High School in 1983 and from the GATA Faculty of Medicine in 1989. He completed his specialty training at Hacettepe University Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery between 1991 and 1997.
Between 1998 and 2000, Prof. Aydın worked as a specialist doctor at Ankara Dışkapı SSK Training and Research Hospital and also provided services at his own clinic. In 2000, he established the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Süleyman Demirel University.
Between 2000 and 2003, he worked on craniofacial surgery and functional muscle transfer for facial paralysis at Medical College of Wisconsin Froedtert Children’s Hospital and University of Michigan. Except for the year 2011, Prof. Aydın worked as a faculty member at the Faculty of Medicine, Süleyman Demirel University, for 21 years and served as the head of the department. He also played a significant role in making the Plastic Surgery Clinic of Süleyman Demirel University’s Faculty of Medicine a reference center serving the entire Western Mediterranean region.
